OUR STORY
What began as an idea soon evolved into a full-time dream for best friends Dawn Siewert and Darren Losee. Dawn took the first leap of faith, fully committing herself to start Urban Toad Media, while Darren contributed his nights and weekends. Soon after, they were both working as a full-time team from their office in West Fargo.
Urban Toad Media offers a broad spectrum of graphic design, brand identity design, advertising and marketing services and professional photography. In the past 12 years, they have provided F-M area clients with outstanding work, enabling their businesses to thrive.
Feeling there was a void in the area's publications for men, Dawn and Darren harnessed past experience with magazine design, publishing and professional photography to create one of Urban Toad Media’s most well-known undertakings — The Good Life Magazine. Highlighting the different sides of Fargo-Moorhead's most recognizable or under-appreciated men, the publication has grown in recognition since its first issue hit the racks in 2013.
Whether they’re working with each other, their writers or their clients, Dawn and Darren always manage to keep work fun, lighthearted and meaningful.

Graphic Designer
With platinum blonde hair, signature glasses, and a love for cats, Dawn is hard to miss—and for good reason. A seasoned graphic designer with 19 years of experience, she’s known for her meticulous attention to detail, unwavering honesty and ambitious work ethic.
As co-founder, co-owner, and co-editor of Urban Toad Media and The Good Life Magazine, she’s played a key role in shaping the Fargo design landscape.
Outside of her creative work, Dawn is passionate about traveling, drawing, journaling, and roller-skating—always seeking new ways to stay inspired.

A self-proclaimed hockey fanatic, sock collector, and shoe hoarder, Darren’s infectious sense of humor and genuine compassion are at the heart of everything he does. With 17 years of experience as a professional photographer, he’s captured everything from high-energy sports to iconic musicians, high-profile clients, and striking product imagery.
As co-founder, co-owner, and co-editor of Urban Toad Media and The Good Life Magazine, Darren blends his creative expertise with his passion for storytelling, always bringing a fresh perspective to every project.
